Learn the basic controls: hold F to block, time the same key for a parry that reflects heavy attacks and stuns the attacker.

Roll your first Stand with a Mysterious Arrow. Using it needs Worthiness in the character skill tree, so spend early skill points there.

Take quests from the NPCs on the main map. Officer Sam opens at level 1, Deputy Bertrude at level 10, Homeless Man Jill at level 15.

Join or found a gang at level 10 for $1,000 in-game cash; gang members share support abilities such as speed buffs.

The main storyline runs 17 parts through Part 5 characters, from Giorno Giovanna and Koichi Hirose to the final Diavolo fight.

Side quests unlock by level: Officer Sam at 1, Deputy Bertrude at 10, Homeless Man Jill and Abbacchio's Partner at 15, Darius and Dracula at 20.

Will Anthonio Zeppeli's quest opens at level 25 and will instantly kill you if you are a vampire.

The Heaven's Plan splits in two: the Made in Heaven route needs C-Moon equipped, the The World Over Heaven route needs The World equipped to read Dio's Diary.

Dio's Bone and Jotaro's Disc only count toward the Heaven's Plan if you obtain them after starting the quest.

Prestige resets all quest progress, including the Heaven's Plan, so finish long questlines before you Prestige.

Level cap 35. This is where every account starts.

Level cap 40. Required before a Requiem Arrow can be used.

Level cap 45.

Level cap 50, the current maximum. Reaching it grants a golden name on the player board.

Reach your current cap, then talk to Prestige Master Rin on the main map and pay $5,000.

Your level returns to 1 and all quest progress resets. Your Stand and fighting style are kept.

Stages: the Starting Line and NYC Bridge are guaranteed spawns; Snowy Cave, Bloody Fields, The Plains, The Forest and The Desert each have a 20% spawn chance.

Blessed barriers let you pick one of three random Blessings to buff your run.

Horses are assigned at the start and only you can ride yours. Winning competitive Steel Ball Run awards Horse Feed for the stable.

Everyone starts with a Revolver that does little damage but has its own role in the mode.

Talk to Prestige Master Rin at the starting line to begin the Requiem Arrow quest, which requires winning 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

Finish the quest by taking $7,500 and a Mysterious Arrow to Isabelle the Arrowsmith to receive a Requiem Arrow.
